How long does it take to get my Torus Station installed?
The total time it takes to install a Torus Station can vary depending on your home’s location and the size of your renewable energy set-up. That said, once we have finalized designs and obtained the necessary permits, installations generally take 2-3 days to complete. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of the entire installation process.
1. Purchasing
(5 Minutes)
Once you've decided to start saving money and reducing CO2 emissions with Torus, a Torus Guide will contact you to schedule a Site Design.
Site Design
(45 Minutes)
During the site design phase, a Torus Guide and installation crew will visit your home. They'll require access to the garage, attic, roof, utility box, and breaker panel, and will walk the perimeter to locate the best possible place for your Torus Station.
Permitting
(3-6 Weeks)
Local governments and some HOAs require homeowners to acquire a permit before installing rooftop solar panels. Your Torus Guide will handle the entire permitting process from start to finish.
Installation
(2 Days)
Installations typically last two days. During your installation, service trucks and 4 crew members will be at your home from 8 am to about 5 pm. Our crew will be on the roof (securing framework and solar panels), in the garage installing Torus Control™ and Torus Smart Battery. Expect footsteps on the roof, drills, and construction-level noise on both days.
Inspection
(1 Day)
After installation, Torus will send a professional from your local government to perform an inspection to verify all safety codes have been followed. Once you pass inspection, your new system will officially be ready to go.
Onboarding
(45 Minutes)
After the inspection is complete, we'll schedule a time to walk you through your new system. A Torus Guide will visit your home to familiarize you with the Torus app, help you connect your home and EV automations (if applicable), and show you tricks and tips for maximizing your savings and CO2 reductions.
