Nova Spin

Nova Spin—our flywheel energy storage system—corrects power quality issues, provides true inertial-based electricity, and charges and discharges 10x faster than chemical batteries alone. Its job is to cover large spikes in demand, whether that's from a certain piece of manufacturing equipment or an unplanned demand response event. 

Nova Pulse

While Nova Spin handles spikes in demand, Nova Pulse stores and discharges steady, reliable base-load power. It provides long-duration outage protection, reduces time-of-use rates, and aligns renewable energy production with demand curves. 

Nova Shield

Nova Shield is a security hardware appliance designed to protect energy storage systems through advanced cybersecurity measures, robust network architecture, and seamless integration. It is installed with every Nova system, preventing unauthorized digital and physical intrusions.

Overwatch

While Nova Shield protects against intrusions, Overwatch monitors the security, performance, and safety of every Nova asset across millions of data points, instantly identifying issues and alerting our on-call maintenance, security, and engineering teams. This combination of 24/7 real-time monitoring and designated O&M support reduces operational complexity and downtime. 

Lasso

Lasso is our AI-powered energy management software. It orchestrates how power flows between your energy assets, optimizing for savings, outage protection, GHG reductions, and other operational goals. It is designed to easily integrate with existing software stacks via API.

Zero Trust Architecture

Nova Shield includes multiple layers of cyber defense, including a zero trust network architecture, intrusion prevention, asset inventory, external security cameras, and secure remote access—all designed with no internet-facing attack surface.

Threat & Anomaly Protection

Nova Shield is centrally monitored and managed through a Starlink™ connection. This provides Torus with the ability to quickly and remotely identify malicious activity, respond to potential threats, and notify local law enforcement when needed.

Fully Integrated

Nova Shield's cyber defense technology is built into every Nova Pulse system we manufacture. Nova Shield is fully integrated into Torus Overwatch and designed to identify potential risks and protect our products from cyber attacks. Security events and notifications are available within the Overwatch section of Torus Lasso, our energy management platform.

Resiliency & Redundancy

Nova Shield includes fail-safes and backup systems to maintain uninterrupted operations during failures or emergencies.
