About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Sr. IT & Security Engineer to join our growing team and company. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a seamless endpoint experience for users, automating processes, and managing back-end IT systems. The position will handle setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of Torus’ internal systems and/or hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and offer timely solutions
  • Responsible for all aspects of an organization’s network systems including software, hardware and support.
  • Recommends, implements, maintains network architectures (LAN & WAN) and Security.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes meticulously to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
  • Manage the setup, configuration, and deployment of various platforms and systems across the organization.
  • Administer user access and permissions within systems and platforms, ensuring proper levels of security and data integrity.
  • Respond to performance issues and service outages.
  • Design, develop, and deploy systems that increase the security of our platforms.
  • Create templates and components within various third-party solutions/platforms and implement to accomplish business objectives.
  • Automate deployment and management of Identity tools.
  • Documenting IT system configuration.
  • Updates/creates system documentation which may affect multiple teams.
  • Mentor and lead junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 8+ years experience in information security including 3+ years experience in a senior or lead security engineer role.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT discipline, with responsibility for inventory management and hardware deployment for remote use.
  • 8+ years of experience in oversight of account creation, system access audits, and in-depth knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) & Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux. 
  • Advanced experience working with IT LAN/WAN network applications/procedures and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP), and GUI interfaces.
  • Understanding of routing and switching - hardware design and knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure components, and systems administration.
  • Demonstrable experience with managing and troubleshooting networks at scale, with a strong understanding of network protocols, subnetting, routing, and firewall rules.
  • Strong experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and security tool integration.
  • Expertise in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native security tools and practices.
  • Experience with security monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, ELK Stack, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of network security, web application security, and secure software development practices.

Background Check All candidates are subject to a background check.
Work Experience 8+ years experience
Education Experience Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Network Security/ Engineering/ Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Work experience may be evaluated in place of education.
Location + Travel The role is hybrid remote based in Salt Lake City. The Engineer will be expected to travel to Torus locations located in Salt Lake and Utah counties as needed.
Schedule Full-Time, Salaried
Compensation $120,000 - 150,000 (Note: We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)
