About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer II (Electrical/Power Electronics Emphasis) will be a key player in setting up and improving our manufacturing processes. The Engineer is responsible for supporting the manufacturing specifically for our BESS (Torus Pulse) and FESS (Torus Spin) products. They will report to the manufacturing engineering manager. This role is responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes for high voltage electrical and power electronic systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, a strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. As a start up, there will be times when this role will require work outside its typical duties.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for electrical and power electronic systems.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products.
- Analyze and improve production workflows, reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and power electronics in manufacturing.
- Work with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness of materials.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Train and support production teams on electrical manufacturing best practices.
- Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
- Create and maintain a clean and professional workspace.
- Encourage principles that create a culture of quality and safety.
- Lead in the “Design For Manufacturing” and continuous improvement process through the assigned product lines.
- Support product development activities.
- Complete other tasks as necessary.
Experience You’ll Need
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, including Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong knowledge of power electronic components and high-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC standards, and other industry regulations.
- Experience optimizing production processes.
- 2-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role, preferably in the electrical or power electronics industry (or equivalent).
- Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree or related field is required.

Additional Details
- Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
- Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
- Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
- Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
