About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Paralegal to join our Legal team as the second Legal hire. Duties of the Paralegal include contract lifecycle management, legal operations, matter intake & triage, and provide support to the Chief Legal Officer, as needed. The ideal candidate should have great attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and to pivot priorities smoothly. If you have previous experience in a fast-moving renewable energy startup with a new legal team, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, a successful Paralegal will enable the business to operate successfully while mitigating risk.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract management lifecycle for multiple contract types
  • Assist with development and buildout of legal operations processes
  • Help manage corporate governance matters such as business registrations and related filings
  • Quickly assess and assign incoming matters based on subject matter, urgency, and risk profile
  • Perform legal research in a timely and efficient manner
  • Support Chief Legal Officer in managing all legal matters for a cutting edge energy company
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience working as a paralegal
  • 1-3+ years contract drafting and negotiation experience
  • Previous experience creating new processes
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, creative problem-solving skills, and approachability

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with G Suite, Slack, and Confluence
  • Previous in-house experience on a growing legal team
  • Experience at a renewable energy or construction company
