About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key player in setting up and improving our manufacturing processes. The Engineer is responsible for supporting the production manufacturing specifically for our BESS (Torus Pulse) and potentially FESS (Torus Spin) products. They will report to the Chief Operations Officer. The role is responsible for designing manufacturing fixtures, selecting equipment, optimizing production flows, and other similar duties. As a start up, there will be times when this role will require work outside its typical duties.
Responsibilities
- Specify, source and implement key production equipment and tooling.
- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
- Maintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
- Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
- Create and maintain a clean and professional workspace.
- Encourage principles that create a culture of quality and safety.
- Lead in the “Design For Manufacturing” and continuous improvement process through the assigned product lines.
- Support product development activities.
- Complete other tasks as necessary.
Experience You’ll Need
Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering degree or related field is required, and 2+ years related experience (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, including Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience designing tooling, jigs, and/or fixtures using SolidWorks
- Experience optimizing production processes
- Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering degree or related field is required

Additional Details
- Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
- Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
- Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
- Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
